The ingredients needed to make Lasagna:
  1. Get 1 lb ground beef
  2. Get Olive oil
  3. Get 1/2 onion, chopped

  7. Prepare 2 x 24 oz jar pasta sauce
  8. Prepare 1 egg
  9. Take 15 oz jar ricotta cheese

  11. Take 1 small bunch fresh parsley, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
  12. Prepare 2-3 c shredded mozzarella
  13. Take 12 lasagna noodles

Overlap one third of the noodles atop the sauce to cover the pan bottom. Spread all the cooked sausage over the noodles and spoon over another cup of sauce. Lay down the second third of noodles. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook and crumble beef and sausage until no longer pink; drain.

Step by Step to make Lasagna:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil for a few minutes, until fragrant. Add ground beef and cook until brown.
  3. Add both jars pasta sauce, Italian seasoning to taste and salt & pepper to taste. Stir until evenly mixed and turn heat to low, letting simmer while mixing other ingredients.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix 1-1/4 c mozzarella, the ricotta cheese, 1/4 c parmesan, egg and parsley. Stir until combined.
  5. Spread 1-1/2 c meat sauce in bottom of lightly greased 9x13 pan. Top with layers of 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of ricotta cheese mixture, and 1-1/2 c meat sauce, spreading each out evenly. Repeat layers two more times. Top with remaining 3 noodles and remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle top with rest of mozzarella & parmesan.
  6. Cover tightly with greased foil.
  7. Bake 1 hour. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  8. All done!

Cook the noodles "al dente" so they'll still have quite a bite to them. When they're finished cooking, drain, rinse with cool water, and lay the noodles flat on a sheet of aluminum foil.
